A strong tourism season is good news, and the Caribbean depends on it. But residents often notice a gap between the headlines about record arrivals and how their own week actually feels.

Value capture, not just volume

What matters is not only how many visitors arrive, but how much of their spending stays in the local economy as wages, local supply, and reinvestment. Volume without value capture is busy, not prosperous.

Prosperity is what is left behind after the season ends.
